PostHeaderIcon Tools to Get Dreamscenes Working on any Desktop

Here are a list of tools to help ensure you get Dreamscenes animated wallpaper also known as motion desktop, working on any computer, including Windows Vista, Windows 7, XP, Mac, Linux, etc...

If you have Windows on your computer, we high recommend you check out Stardock DeskScapes. DeskScapes supports nearly all versions of Windows including Vista 32-bit, Vista 64-bit in all flavors (Home Basic/Premium/Business/Enterprise) and 32-bit versions of Windows XP.

This is by far the best tool available for running a dreamscene on your desktop. The program uses very little CPU power so you can have HD animated wallpaper while your operating system continues to run smoothly.

Plus, Stardock Deskscapes comes bundled with DreamMaker. This is a very handy little program that will take a movie file of anything from videos of friends and family, 3D rendered animations, or even your favorite YouTube video and turn it into a beautiful dreamscene file with just a few mouse clicks.

If you are running Windows and want to add these cool animated wallpapers to your desktop, DeskScapes is the tool you will want to have.

Another tool that will work is the VLC media Player. This program has nothing on DeskScapes but if you running an operating system other than Windows, this could be a good alternative for you. This will work fine on Windows, but this is more of a quick fix then the real thing.

Just download VLC media player, open your video file, right click, and choose wallpaper. That is all!

If you do not see the wallpaper option then just go to:
Settings > Preferences > Video > Output Modules > Direct X.
once there, check the Advanced Options box in the bottom right hand corner.
The advanced options will appear. Check Enable Wallpaper Mode. Now when you right click on your videos, you should be able to see a Wallpaper option.

To get the video file to loop just click on Playlist in the navigation menu, and you will find the loop option.

As stated this is more of a quick fix. Good for temporaily impressing friends and family.

Here is another tool that will get the job done, however this is also more of a quick fix thing. Download the BS.Player and open your video file, right-click and select "Desktop mode" from the options menu. That all there is to it. You now have your favorite video playing as animated wallpaper.

One last tool that is very useful when trying to convert videos from one type to another or even compress them to a smaller size while keeping a good level of quiality is Total Video Converter.
